While Springfield is known for its variations on cashew chicken, it also packs a punch into its brunch with lots of organic ingredients. There are lots of outdoorsy things to do in Springfield, especially because it has 92 parks. The nearby James and Finley rivers provide opportunity for fishing and canoeing. The Busiek National Forest offers hiking, horseback riding, and camping. There are also lots of historical things to learn about in fun ways, including the Battle of Springfield driving tour and the American Civil War Library.
